In industrial applications, machine control with real time communications has been around for decades as part of systems such as SCADA (supervisory control and data acquisition) and DCS (distributed control systems).  With the advent of high-performance microcomputers and distributed computing, these systems are now reliant on IoT technologies to become more open, enabling data capture for the foundation for applications such as predictive maintenance, machine learning, and artificial intelligence.  In this session, learn how a mine in southern Wyoming unlocked their IoT data for edge analytics and AI using distributed computing based on HarperDB.
